Ouachita Singers and Ouachita Concert Choir to perform April 19

April 11, 2022

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will present the Ouachita Singers and Concert Choir in concert Friday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center, 409 Ouachita St. The performance, featuring both choirs collaborating on composer John Rutter’s masterwork, “Requiem,” is free and open to the public.

Alumni profile: Flight 1420 Crash

It’s been 20 years since the Ouachita Singers, returning from a mission trip to Europe, crashed on the final leg of their trip in Little Rock on American Airlines Flight 1420. Survivors returned to Arkadelphia in June 2019 to mark the 20th anniversary of that night, June 1, 1999.

Pep rallies, classes, the freshman beanie ceremony – these are a few of the many Ouachita events held in the ampitheater outside of McClellan Hall. Often called “the amp” by current students, the Rachel Fuller and Ouachita Singers Memorial Ampitheater has great significance to Ouachita’s recent history.

Former Ouachita student Barrett Baber wins Grammy Gig of a Lifetime ??

January 23, 2014

It’s been quite a week for former Ouachita Baptist University student Barrett Baber (’02) as one of his dreams comes true – performing at the Grammys. Baber, who recently won the nationwide Grammy Gig of a Lifetime competition, will perform live at Club Nokia in Los Angeles and be featured in the Grammy Live coverage on Sunday, Jan. 26.
